Road Closures & Travel Information
It can never be too early to organise your Race Day travel. Please plan your journey before you set off and whatever mode of transport you use, allow extra time for delays or congestion. We suggest you aim to arrive in Reading no later than 08:45 for the Half Marathon (7:30am for the Green Park Challenge). You can download a timeline of road closures from the ROAD CLOSURES section below so your trip to the start line is as relaxed as possible.
Please note there is a 15 – 20 minute walk from the race village to the start line. If you or one of your supporters has any mobility issues and is in need of assistance, then please contact our events team in advance on 0778 813 7117 or email info@goldlineevents.co.uk
Shuttle buses and Taxis
Shuttle buses run between Reading Station and the Reading Football Club Stadium, the service is available to everyone. The first bus leaves Reading station at 07:00. The last bus leaves the Stadium at 15.00. A full timetable will be published here when available.
There is a small charge to use the shuttle bus of £1.50 each way or £1 for concessionary pass holders and children under five years of age travel free. To ensure a speedy boarding experience the buses will operate a contactless tap on tap off payment system, no cash payments please.
If you have booked parking in the Blue car park, your bus service is free.
There are also taxis at the Station. Please note if you use the Taxis service this is one way only, there is not a taxi pick up point at the Stadium. You should either get a shuttle bus back or order a taxi to pick you up off site away from the Stadium.
If you're travelling by bus on public transport, you can get service updates from Reading Buses here.

There is no parking at the Reading Football Club Stadium.
There are two official car parks, which must be booked at the same time as your entry.

ROAD CLOSURES
Every year we work very closely with Reading Borough Council and other agencies to agree a full traffic management system which will be safe for the runners and cause the minimum amount of disruption to residents and other road users. However, there will be times when some roads will be closed to traffic. This is necessary to host such a large road race and we ask for your patience and cooperation during the short time the race will be passing your area.
A full list of the 2025 road closures and restrictions will be published closer to the event.
We also ask people do not use junction 11 on the M4 to gain access to Reading town centre as this will be affected due to road closures.
Travelling by car
If you are traveling by car then please allow extra time for delays and congestion. If you are participating in the Green Park Challenge we advise that you arrive no later than 07:30am. If you are participating in the Unleashed Performance Reading Half Marathon we advise you to arrive no later than 08:45am as runners will begin assembling to the start line from 09:00am.

Green Park Station opened in May 2023 and is a stones throw away from the start line and race village.
